Premier Community Health Receives $20,000 Grant to Help Women Get Mammograms
Dayton, OH, July 1, 2012 – Breast Cancer. These two words have affected almost every person in some way. Yet many women are putting off getting their mammograms for a variety of reasons including lack of insurance, financial hardships or even fear. Premier Community Health, with the help of a $20,000 grant from the Greater Cincinnati Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, helps get rid of any of these barriers!
“Getting an annual mammogram is still one of the best ways to detect breast cancer in the early stages,” said Pamela Jacques-Reichel, executive director of Premier Community Health. “With the added assistance of this grant, we are able to reach out and offer more of our services to women who need our help. We want to break down any barriers that may stop women from receiving their yearly mammograms.”
Through this grant, Premier Community Health will provide eligible women with a free mammogram. In addition, this funding will provide transportation and educational resources for the women within the greater Dayton region.
From no transportation to no insurance, PCH will work with each person to break down any barrier standing between them and their mammogram. PCH’s mammography program is offered to the community throughout the year. Women must meet certain guidelines to be eligible for the mammography program. To check your eligibility, call (937) 227-9440 or 1-877-274-4543. This program stretches over multiple counties and is not limited to just Dayton residents. Call today to see if you are eligible.
